As long as you do not have only water in the borehole, it actually makes no sense to limit the temperature to plus 2 degrees. The brine serves as antifreeze.

But that is a miserable annual performance factor... off the cuff, I would blame the unnecessary buffer tanks including the [Taschenkamin]. The latter is often very difficult to integrate without disturbing the sensitive overall system.

That's scratching at the three.. could it be that there is heater operation in between? For a brine-to-water heat pump, that is really not good.

Sure, wood is simply available in abundance for free, hence the fireplace. But I don’t see the point in burning it wastefully. The heating element is deactivated and definitely won’t kick in. I’m not saying it’s the most economical thing you can do, brine heat pump + water-based fireplace. However, we are very satisfied with the annual heating cushions and are still aware of the higher investment costs.
