Yes, that's fine, with your 5000 euros it wasn't clear what was included (you emphasized drilling meters!), and what wasn't. Probably the travel, distance, the workload, and who knows what else also factor into the costs, as with other craftsmen as well. (By the way: When I say "flushed," I don't mean "not properly drilled," but the method used to remove the chips (the drilling debris), and the usual method is to "flush," i.e. to wash out the dirt with water. In my case, the company paused after 30 drilling meters to get the compressor truck, but the "all inclusive" was still upheld by the company without extra costs)

The location is certainly important.

Otherwise, I have also requested the drilling including from the heating specialist. It then just costs a few thousand more. But since we are building with individual contracts anyway, I can choose the service provider and obtain comparable offers.
There are also plenty of drilling companies if you look for them. That is really not the problem, at least here. Just by Google, you can find 4 within a 50 km radius.

If you have an architect, can't he just pull one out of his sleeve? The drilling company we used came from his contacts. All other inquiries were similar or significantly more expensive. So why change something familiar? We knew each other, and the process was smooth.

Our heating specialist purchases the drilling himself. However, since the heating specialist, the architect, and the drilling person all know each other, this practically works without an additional charge (or only a small one).

At the end of the day, though, I have only one point of contact...

Best regards
Markus

PS: Remember, the funding for drilling should start again in NRW in the next few days. I'm waiting too. If you drill with certified companies, you get €10 per meter drilled!

For €5,000 I cannot imagine a borehole.

We had two offers that were between €10,000-12,000 (for 12kW extraction capacity) - but that was in 2009. Everything was included there, application/request at the Water Management Authority, drill samples, disposal of drilling sludge, pressure test, backfilling...

The cheaper provider was from Austria. And if I remember correctly, that is the company that drilled in one of the well-known places (Staufen?).

For the trench collector there is now a proven calculator in the forum with which you can also calculate the material. There are even specialists there from whom you can get the material from a single source. The savings after you get back the BAFA subsidy (€4,000) means €0 for the source development with good planning. I wouldn’t choose an air heat pump for that...

If for whatever reason only an air heat pump is possible... then definitely a Panasonic Geisha (aquaera ...). That thing achieves an annual performance factor of 4 and more in practice.

I didn’t want an air heat pump because we are building in a gap between houses. No gas in the street.

That leaves oil, gas tank, pellets, air heat pump, and ground source.

I wanted something that runs easily and heats continuously without me. I don’t want to worry about resupplying pellets, gas, or oil.

So it was down to air heat pump and ground source.

Because we are building right in the middle of an old village community, it was too risky for me to use an air heat pump. I’m sure we would have saved a few euros, but I didn’t want to make a negative impression from the start just because I chose the wrong company and it’s not actually “whisper quiet.”

For me, it was only about minimizing costs with the ground source heat pump. That means €4,500 subsidy for the heat pump and hopefully €10/meter for the drilling.

Regards Markus
