No, he says he simply is not allowed to do it earlier. As a reason, he now claims that the tax office would otherwise give him a hard time. Funny, as a tax officer I have never heard of such a "rule," and I can't explain it either.

We did. He is being stubborn. We now offer him to settle the whole matter before the 23rd or on the 31st, when we will be back. If he doesn't agree to that, I will probably have to involve my legal expenses insurance, although I really don't want to.

Then do it on the 31st or on the 1st when you are back. Finish everything beforehand and on the 31st just hand over the keys and read the meters. Or you can assign someone to handle the handover. It's not rocket science.

It looks EXACTLY LIKE our concrete staircase in the terraced house, where the treads were laid with wood.

So, the aforementioned staircase was installed yesterday. We are actually on the home stretch!
A bit of a hindrance is the fact that we don't have an electrical connection yet, but supposedly this problem will be resolved next week. I'm curious.
