Here comes a little update again.... We are slowly approaching the final floor plan.
Basically, I also find the floor plan appealing. However, for us, the closet space in the dressing room would be far too small if I only think of all the thick winter jackets and shoes, etc. For my collection of leather jackets, it would probably just be enough (yes, yes ... some might still be sorted out, but they are almost all collector’s items ...). In addition, a garage would be missing and we could do without a bathtub. A three-/four-sided fireplace (stove) certainly makes quite an impression. It's just a pity that a chimney must be specially built for it when modern energy sources (heat pumps) are used. That really becomes a luxury costing over €10,000. Do you already know where the wood is supposed to be stored? How is it nowadays with modern fireplaces/stoves regarding soot on the glass? With three or even four sides, cleaning can be labor-intensive :) I would really miss a basement – at least for the first time. Since our house is somewhat on a slope, we have normally sized windows there, so little basement “feeling” and already living space level including underfloor heating. The double garage adjoins it with access to the house. How expensive would a basement be for your house? Many years ago – decades already – a colleague of mine told me he would build without a basement. I could hardly believe that such a thing was possible, as up to that time I only knew houses with basements through my parents’ house – and all other houses. But those were different times and “completely normal.” I still have the image of the basement room in front of me, which was full of canning jars ... cherries ... pears and other things, illuminated by a 20-watt light bulb. Plus a basement bar for merry evenings and of course a laundry room with access to the garden. Will you only dry your laundry in the dryer? There is no direct access to the outside from the utility room. Or does the controlled residential ventilation ensure faster drying on the drying rack? Do you have a radiator somewhere? When clothes and shoes are wet on rainy/snowy days, I can imagine that such a thing can be useful. Otherwise, the fireplace has to serve :) I’m curious to see the first pictures :)
