Unbelievable.
Which side is the south side of the bedroom?
Exterior views of that?
I'm just annoyed that I went to the trouble. I had confused you with someone for whom the exterior look of the house is important. You just shouldn't read too many threads at the same time.
Attached is the picture with the changes.
So my priorities are as follows:
1. Stick to budget
2. Function
3. Appearance
Of course, I thank you for the effort you put in. In the end, we will implement some of these things anyway.
Let me say something about that..
I find the window on the north side in the sofa area clearly too small. We have a similar window (1.76 x 1.38), and for the large area you have there, it will seem too small! Even if there is a floor-to-ceiling window a bit further east, that is too far away to still have an effect on the sofa area. If the furniture allows it, I would definitely make a floor-to-ceiling window there, maybe even a bit bigger 2.5-3m.
You will be rewarded with a great view!
So I calculated:
Schüco window including roller shutter 2000x1350 = €1100
1.8m² exterior wall = €180
Plaster inside and outside 1.8m² = €60
Window sill inside and outside: €150
Total: €1490
Floor-to-ceiling Schüco window 2000x2000
Total: €1500
I wouldn’t have thought that at first. Then of course we'll make another floor-to-ceiling window in the living room.
Is that so?
Maybe you’re still saving on the controlled residential ventilation, then you could ventilate?!
And there will certainly be situations at your place (putting things in the closet, cleaning), when one wants daylight.
Also, a chair likes to be placed under a window quite well.
I'm still not convinced. But let's see how the budget goes when I have quotes for windows, shell construction, and the roof, then we'll take another look.
After all, we currently have quotes for the groundwork that are around €10,000 cheaper than originally offered by the shell builder.
Controlled residential ventilation definitely will not be cut and falls under priority 1 because my girlfriend keeps the windows open all day anyway...
I would put the kitchen there instead of an office... rotate the rooms a bit with regard to the west sun... office top left on the plan, but that means another floor plan because the stairs then don't fit.
We have already discussed this... the floor plan will stay as it is.
Between the living room and gallery there will be a large glass door which lets some of the western sun into the living room.
Were symmetrical window arrangements that important to the builder?
If symmetry does not compromise priorities 1 and 2, then yes.
No, the window must stay - otherwise the view is ruined. I would rather do without the walk-in and install an equally beautiful floor-level corner shower.
Or the walk-in with glass wall and a small corner bathtub:
So I'm still open to discussion about the bathroom.
Walk-in shower without shower enclosure 1x1.5m is a must.
Because of the water splashes, I want an L shape. This is not given in your layout.
I don’t really need the window above the toilet, but I could imagine a transom window.
