The nice thing about a walk-in closet with a window is that you at least have light in the summer; otherwise, you can use shelf lighting, which is very discreet and provides enough light in such cases. So I only have the low-light situation occasionally when I get up before my partner. But not always when I have to go in there. You don’t have significantly more dust there. In our storage room, I have no more or less dust than in my bedroom. And the kids jump on the bed there. We wash our hands at the well pump or alternatively at the outdoor faucet. I would rather not have to walk through the garage with my dirty boots to wash my hands.

Can't the sink go in the utility room? You might need one there anyway because of condensation from the dryer.

So I see absolutely no problem with the sink. I moved it further up and it works for me. Especially because it was done the same way at friends of ours.

It is more likely that the question is where you store all your jackets, coats, and seasonal wardrobe. You will probably have more than one jacket in use, for example the simple one for work, the nice coat for the cinema, the rain jacket for walks, fleece for gardening, and a training jacket for outdoor sports. All of this for 1, 2, 3, 4 people. In the wardrobe. Within easy reach. The same applies to shoes: the muddy pair, the leather pair, the lined ones, the going-out shoes, sports shoes, rubber boots. The kids have quite a few more of the former, while Mrs. Pömps has the latter: ballerinas, flip-flops, ankle boots, boots, sneakers... And you’ll probably own more than one pair as well. Shoes go under the stairs, but not the jackets...

ops: What, you’re continuing without the architect? You say that often – is that then to be accepted and remain unresolved for life? The jackets and shoes will all end up in the office – because the space must be there, whether you plan it or not. Omitting it is not an option. The winter jackets could go in the room under the stairs; just put in a rod – and the wall closet is done. If you manage to move the front door, I could also imagine another closet and a shoe cabinet by the stairs:
