I would completely omit the partition wall in the garage. Shelves are sufficient as room dividers there and can also be positioned later as needed to match the car length.
Good idea, we had that yesterday as well. The wall is going.
My few comments (sorry if some things have already been discussed):
Garage:
- What’s the sink for? I find it suboptimal at that spot with 590 interior width and 2 cars. If needed, I would move it toward the passage to the storage.
- What cars do you drive? 4.4 m long cars are drawn here proportionally. An Astra ST is already 4.7 m and an Insignia ST 5 m. It will get tighter with the shelves in the end.
- Are bikes going into the storage? If yes, then I would make the passage to the storage in the middle. Also considering longer cars.
- Garage windows: I would use the same parapet height as in the house. It looks odd in the exterior view.
Utility room:
- Without the door to the garage, you would have really good space. When the cars are in the garage, you can hardly get past the car.
Living:
- Where will the TV go?
Bathroom:
- Access to the shower is very narrow. Why this corner at the dressing room at all?
Bedroom:
- The rear area will be very dark without switched-on lighting.
Dressing room:
- A window is missing for me.
If the wall goes away, I would also push the sink further up.
3 Series BMW Touring: 1.9 m x 4.75
911: 1.8 m x 4.43
That leaves 2.2 meters for the space between and beside the cars.
The access to the shower is 1 m, I think that is enough?
The architect only partially correctly drew the furniture. I had already done that to scale myself in previous sketches.
Regarding the window in the dressing room... if I think about the fact that I change there most of the year when it is dark anyway. Why then have a window?
So the architect is hardly to blame because the ideas came from us.
We have changed something again with the windows now.
In the bedroom, the window will be on the south side with 2 m width.
In child 1, the window is symmetrical to child 2 and just as wide.
The further floor-to-ceiling window on the ground floor then reduces the available space there. We wanted to put a sideboard on the side. The window with parapet was planned because the couch goes there. Then a floor-to-ceiling window does not bring me much if the couch is in front of it.
The large entrance door would of course be great but we want to stay within budget. I think we will still enlarge the door somewhat to e.g. 1.2 m.
The light comes in from above via the gallery windows.
Also again about windows:
South view: The window in child’s room 1 has a different format than in child’s room 2 and is also off the axis of the kitchen window, which also has a different format.
Child 2 and bedroom could also get a second window. Dressing room… well, it’s already small, but completely without natural light? Hmm...
Why do the gallery windows have ugly and unnecessary fall protection?
The front door could make the hallway nicely bright with a glass side panel.
Why the fall protections are in the plan I don’t know either. They definitely won’t be installed.
