If I may say so, it is simply wrong to compare Ikea with other renowned kitchen manufacturers. Kitchen manufacturers also offer different lines, both for the small budget and for those who want to afford more.

The problem is that hardly any buyers dare to have their kitchen planned according to their budget in the kitchen studio. Browsing Ikea is initially not personal and you are basically incognito. Putting together a kitchen there on the PC first makes the whole thing anonymous without having to state price expectations. If you see that it ends up being too expensive, you simply remove one thing or another. In my opinion, Ikea also takes advantage of this approach.

But it can also be due to the general kitchen pricing policy. For example, if you say €12,000 (a reasonable price for a good kitchen), you don’t get anything included at their regular price. The dealers’ tactic is actually the opposite: they first ask what you want without looking at the price. I really got into an argument with the consultant there. She kept asking what, which faucet should it be? – without prices, I can’t tell you which one I would choose, I like this one better here, but it wouldn’t be worth a €200 extra charge to me compared to this one. We discussed for 3 hours whether the countertop should go into the window or not. In the end, the saleswoman said at the 3rd appointment that the surcharge was a whopping €45 for a deeper countertop. I was really angry, so much stress for nothing...
And it went on like that from item to item. In the end, even with a look at the price tables, I didn’t have the feeling that I got the best for my money. Maybe you could have saved €500 if you had taken hardly any "worse" handles or something like that.

In the end, it’s really no wonder that people use the IKEA system. You can immediately price every extra, easily see how to stay within the budget, and for example, at first only choose the expensive carcass elements with cheap fronts and nicer fronts in a few years. I have now used the new Metod system as a cabinet in the utility room, which is not really of lower quality than our kitchen builder kitchen. And I simply buy spare parts by driving to Kötbular to eat…

Maybe it is because the kitchen dealer wanted to give you a decent price for the door and therefore ordered the door together with an order that matched the door, because he might have had to charge twice as much for the single door.

Can you say here which kitchen manufacturer is roughly in the same price range as IKEA, so that one knows where to look? I like that with IKEA, you can really see exactly what costs what. That way, you can carefully consider whether the extra cost is worth it or not. In the kitchen store, you probably have to haggle like at a bazaar and still don’t know if the price is reasonable. We will probably first configure an IKEA kitchen to see how much we will have to spend at least on our kitchen. Then you can still see if there is one from the kitchen store for a little more.
