We also hired a kitchen fitter. For our 6m, we paid 500 €.

... Then there are the electrical appliances... (Ikea appliances don't perform that well in tests)
For us, a decent amount is around ±€5000, then you're at the price we paid for Nolte quality and design with the Ikea kitchen.

So you only save on the assembly if you do it yourself. That's completely fine if you have to save somewhere because the money is tight.

I have Ikea in the utility room: the countless drawers in our cabinets are unfortunately arranged in such a way that space is wasted.
You also have to expect that Ikea doesn't have everything in stock. We had to go three times because doors and handles were not available for purchase. We waited two months for the handles. That was okay for the utility room, but in the living area/kitchen you want to be finished at some point.

I consider that to be a rumor.

Hmm, our cheapest offer from a kitchen builder was just under €15,000 (but including assembly) With Ikea, we're now not even reaching €10,000, with better equipment (e.g. including drawer interior lighting in every drawer, all organizing systems, LeMans pull-out in the corner cabinet), the

worktop is being delivered by a friendly carpenter and fitted into the window recesses.

If anyone knows a good kitchen builder in the Regensburg area, I’m happy to get another offer.

..there’s not much more to say about that now..

It's new to me that people ONLY contribute their own work during house construction because money is tight.

To respond on that level: If you have two left hands, that’s totally fine.

I clearly question the better equipment here. What exactly are you comparing, between the price from IKEA and the offer from a kitchen builder? One thing is a fact, the quality of furniture from a kitchen builder cannot be compared with that of IKEA, because there are significant differences. This is already reflected in the price.

One more thing, and this has already been mentioned, IKEA's range is also limited, for example, just the cabinet height of the base units. The working height must be compensated with plinth feet. If you want that, fine. But comparing an IKEA kitchen with others in terms of price is simply nonsense, it doesn't work.
