Just to briefly come back to the topic of Ikea, I have ordered inner drawer runners, and I will test whether they can be used in an Ikea kitchen.

Real wood fronts with a low budget are at least challenging for mass-produced kitchens (except Ikea) (we found) – of course, I don’t know how it is with a carpenter.

There are also differences with real wood fronts. Carrier material, veneer thickness, wood type of the front and backing, edging, and ultimately the surface treatment. Do not confuse with solid wood, that would be on a completely different level.

The corpus elements at IKEA are in no way inferior to those of kitchen stores. They all use particleboard and laminated surfaces (what you see when you later look inside). The parts generally don’t cost much money either. The fronts and possibly the side panels (e.g., at open ends) are expensive. IKEA also charges well for those if you choose the better elements there. The nice thing about IKEA is that you can skip the haggling and bargaining and know exactly what the fun costs. 10 front doors for the kitchen in glossy white cost €600, the same doors in real wood blah blah €800. Now I can quickly consider whether the €200 extra is worth it to me and don’t have to listen to any nonsense or painfully calculate and ask for individual prices myself. Because in the kitchen studio, the surcharges are not transparent and certainly are not listed anywhere. Then please order the electrical appliances for an IKEA kitchen online and not the appliances from IKEA itself.

We planned and ordered a kitchen ourselves last week. It will be delivered on 27.04.

For the Ikea kitchens, we decided for several reasons

1) We are not hobby cooks, for us the kitchen is more of a functional thing .. In other words, we have no big demands
2) Of course, the quality is certainly <= a Nobilia kitchen and others, but I am convinced that the price/performance ratio of Ikea kitchens is extremely good. What you get for your money is very much. If you look at the Ikea kitchens in the house and touch them, you realize that you are not buying a Billy shelf but something of higher quality.
3) Price question, one can honestly say. For freely planned kitchens with the same setup, I would have paid at least €3,000 more at Küchen Aktuell, Porta, Höfner, kitchen studios and others, I really felt like I was everywhere :eek , sometimes even €6-7k more. I know, it's a rough comparison. But kitchens are hard to compare.
4) On principle, because the kitchen marketing or kitchen sales really annoy me. I don’t like buying anywhere where the salesperson treats me like a dumb boy. Here, only the small kitchen studio around the corner convinced me (no bait like 50% discount etc.)
5) At Ikea I can see exactly what each screw costs. Elsewhere you usually get a fairy tale offer, which you are only allowed to look at in detail after you have signed the purchase contract.

We have weighed everything subjectively for ourselves and decided in favor of Ikea for the above reasons.

On April 27 or a month later, I would be happy to report from everyday life.

By the way, I have to completely agree with you on that. If you have unusual dimensions or certain distances, you really have to make compromises at IKEA or be prepared for them. Although IKEA already has a very good selection of sizes, if you want to plan a bit more individually or achieve certain corners and edges, you have to tinker.
