Hello :)

Are there actually intervals in which new products are released?
After 1.5 years of planning the living room and constantly wavering do I do it this way or not, I experienced last week that for example the Kivik sofa with Tranas cover is discontinued (I almost cried) and the Besta floor shelf with 49 cm depth as well... Now no problem, Tranas was available as a cover in the USA, I ordered it, the Besta cabinets now just don’t stick out 9 cm... But I found out how to perfectly hide my messy Billy shelves instead of getting rid of them :)
But back to the question. Are there intervals? For example a couch summer collection?
At the moment apparently a lot is happening in the beds and Pax area... Summer, so our Ikea is renovating wildly here. They wouldn’t do that if there wasn’t something new.

Cheers
Andrea

A renovation usually NEVER has anything to do with a new assortment, even if new products are of course to be shown. Usually, all the furniture available for purchase is displayed in the store, including the old ones. Meanwhile, new products are introduced at four dates throughout the year, for which other products also permanently disappear, but this does not happen in one day; it is a process over several weeks. Familypreis, Midsommar, and weekly offers are always a good indication that a product might disappear.

When the Faktum system is discontinued, it’s a disgrace. My main reason for wanting to buy a kitchen at Ikea is the compatibility over decades. If this is no longer guaranteed, I might as well buy a kitchen at a kitchen studio, which is not any more expensive.

That the Nexus dark brown was taken out of the range is also a disgrace! For a few weeks I have been planning a kitchen with the Nexus front using the poor Ikea kitchen planner, and now it no longer exists. I designed/renovated the kitchen with this front and now I find out that the front is no longer available, yet it is still shown on the website and in the kitchen planner. Why isn’t there any warning beforehand?

What I also noticed is this 100€ voucher kitchen promotion. Last week you could get the voucher as a regular customer, but now suddenly you have to be an Ikea Family member. What is that supposed to mean? Somehow I feel taken for a fool.

Please calm down, Artur. The way you’re coming across here, you won’t get a reasonable answer. I also want to remind you that this is not an Ikea-run forum. Fans with their own Ikea experiences or employees who try to help in their free time and patiently answer questions write here. Alternatively, you can also go to your EH or get on the phone with the hotline. Oh, and a thank you is also rather rare.

I’ll still try to respond. What’s the problem with Faktum eventually being replaced? Everything develops further, weaknesses are improved, new things are added. Faktum has been around for so long, it just has to adapt with the times. Nexus is indeed being replaced. Strangely enough, there are still large stocks of Nexus in the stores. Try to buy whatever you can at a real bargain price, or get something from neighboring stores, and later you can even reorder parts for 2 years from a reorder list in your EH. Or just wait for the catalog launch and take a look at the new fronts—I have a feeling there might be something for you there. ;) And regarding your last question, the stores can decide many promotions among themselves. That’s why you got the voucher at your EH “just like that.” Other stores did not have this promotion. The current promotion is centrally organized, meaning all stores run it. Therefore, now only the voucher with the Family Card. What’s wrong with the card? That you have many benefits? Your kids get gifts, you get free coffee, you have transport protection, and and and... Right, terrible. I wouldn’t do it either. (Irony off)

I hope I have answered your questions. If any more come up, just ask them in a different tone.

Thanks. Now people even get insulted in their free time...

actually not, just look up some Nexus fronts on the internet and see in which stores there are still inventories. For my planned kitchen, I can’t find any suitable sizes in all of NRW for my planned kitchen.

The problem is that you won’t get any replacements anymore! So where’s the problem in keeping Faktum? The 60 cm width should stay because appliances are based on that, I don’t think Ikea will build custom-made appliances. The depth won’t be reduced either, because otherwise you could just buy countertops from the hardware store. Basically, they will only change the drilling measurements so Faktum fronts no longer fit. Furthermore, there will probably be a low height size because low kitchens are trendy.

I am definitely sure that in June this promotion was on the Ikea website and without the Family requirement! In my view, promotions on the website apply nationwide! The Family card may have advantages, but not everyone wants to give their data to Ikea and it’s also about principle, that you keep your word.

Furthermore, I find the new "Windows 8" design on the website just cheap. I always thought creative minds work at Ikea, but instead they fully rely on Microsoft.
