The wait is over, the dampened 20cm-Maximera slides are available:

They are probably from Blum (Made in Austria).

According to the instructions, the rear connection plate consists of two parts that can be adjusted to different height differences using a grid. However, the included drilling template only supports one variant of the height differences. This means you can also pre-drill the fronts for other heights, but this is only for people with a lot of patience.

I bought my new kitchen on 15.07 and had configured the 20cm wire pull-out in the configurator and received the 20cm Maximera drawer. It had been lying around with me for days waiting for an exchange because I thought it was a mistake on Ikea’s part in assembling the order (googling the article number 703.188.68 was also unsuccessful in mid-July). But now I discovered this thread and am somewhat reassured that it was not a mistake in itself. I am now just considering whether I should try to organize a wire pull-out or keep the new drawer.

Keep them unless you want to put Trulla's thick glasses in. The MAXIMERA drawer is pure luxury compared to the wire things.

... and if it doesn’t fit 100% at the bottom, just place a board or similar inside to raise everything a bit.

Thank you all, then I will install the part this evening.

Since in mid-July there was no 20x80cm-Ringhult front in white either, because according to an Ikea employee it was subject to a sales stop due to quality defects, it is now available again.

what I find very adventurous is that the maximera-20cm drawers come with special covers for the hinge cup holes, and these again have holes where the drawer fixings are screwed on. see page 10 of the instructions for this.

why not take a horizontal 80x20 drawer front and mount it on the vertical 20x80 cabinet? both have the dimension 79.7x19.7. the horizontal front does not have large cup holes and the pre-drilled holes for the horizontal drawer fixing are much less likely to get in the way, right? I imagine it’s less wobbly and when opened it no longer looks so strange on the inside of the front.

of course, this only works with fronts where the horizontal and vertical edges look the same (e.g. Veddinge, but not Ringhult).

has anyone tried this or does anyone know why it is not done this way?
