With this, I want to claim that I wouldn’t be significantly above the price at the kitchen studio with the planned furniture either.
As I have already written elsewhere, I have an Ikea kitchen and have been very satisfied with it; however, the electrical appliances come from a specialist retailer.
When it was time for a new kitchen, my first step was therefore to go to IKEA. What a surprise – with the switch to the Metod series (that's what it’s called, I believe), all flexibility is gone; I depend on that in an old building. They have also raised their prices considerably. What annoys me much more, however, is the Swede’s policy regarding advice and assembly (this time we have no time to assemble it ourselves): in this respect, they really leave a lot to be desired :-(
So off to the kitchen studio and yet another surprise. After reading the reports here about kitchen purchases, I was prepared for the worst. Quite the opposite: competent advice, flexibility, no exorbitant prices, and accordingly no bazaar terminology.
Since yesterday, our kitchen has been installed, and it’s a pleasure to watch the guys as the kitchen grows under their skilled hands. The old IKEA kitchen is partly moving to the tea kitchen of our office and the workshop cellar of our son-in-law.
What we are especially pleased about with the new kitchen: the price/performance ratio is right. By my understanding, the Swede can't compete with that.
