What I quite like about our kitchen is the tall cabinet with plates, glasses, cups - I don't know if I would want that again at floor level. Although - if there are pull-outs, it might work. Does the refrigerator fit with its door? Otherwise - as Kerstin writes - it is pretty [ADW]. I cannot recommend the 20cm mini-apothecary cabinet - we have an Ikea kitchen unit in the utility room with that thing - it unfortunately never closes properly. Do you cook a lot? For us, it's limited and I'm quite glad that the stove is not the center of the kitchen, but the counter is completely free.

Yes, cooking is very important to us. We often cook twice a day, even though we are both fully employed. When cooking, we want to look into the room.

I also noticed the 20er mini apothecary cabinet at Ikea. But my wife thinks it’s great for her oil collection. Unfortunately, I can’t argue with that.

Is the utility room accessible from two sides?

Oil collection, there is such a 20 cm one but it is often rather useless and a 40 cm high drawer, for example in the 40 cm base cabinet, is much more practical.

Also annoying and impractical are the inner drawers, always 2 handles for each knife, etc.

Do you stand at the stove for that long? Don’t you usually prepare for longer? Maybe together as well?

You don’t have IKEA kitchens installed by Ikea. They charge outrageous prices for that. This is a typical case for MyHammer. We paid 500€ instead of 1,700€ at Ikea (rented house). If you don’t want to use MyHammer, you can simply ask moving companies. They also do this as part of moves and can be hired individually without any problems.

We are satisfied with Ikea. Sure, you might hit a snag switching from Faktum to Metod ... but the other way around, Faktum existed for a long time and reorders are still possible within limits. Nobody else offers that! I also like the option to simply replace the fronts after x years (small children in the house, tastes change) for a small amount of money. Try reordering fronts from Nolte and others, you’ll have a hard time. Or moving with such a kitchen, the prices for additional elements are terrible and 10-12 weeks delivery time is unusable and simply outdated.
