We decided against it. Now, after 9 years, we are considering adding an interior blind to one. But only because of the persistent sun. You can do that yourself, yes. Understandable hourly wage, 65€ was common already 10 years ago. Actually: two coats… paint costs more, and then 2 residential units with 2 people. But as I said: I would do it myself too. No idea, we have wood. We also don't have a sliding door. Works very well without one.

I would make the decision for or against [Dachflächenfensterrollladen] (oh that is such a great German compound word again! :)) dependent on what the room is used for. For a children's or bedroom, it would be important to me because of heat protection and light incidence.

I have now suggested this to my architect, she has been checking it for 3 days... it’s really starting to annoy me. First, she doesn’t come up with the idea herself, then I give her the information, then it takes her ages to check it, it will probably cost extra because it then requires more "attic materials," and the architect works in the company's interest,...

Do you think this is relevant for the building application? Can I already submit the application and have the attic floor lowered a bit? Then she can think about it and check it for weeks,...

Regarding the issue with the office door, especially to Katja, who has put a lot of effort into offering me alternatives... according to the company that makes the doors, a 76 cm door should be no problem at all. Look at the floor plan again, they think the architect is unnecessarily keeping 12 cm or however much space to the stairs, which wouldn’t be necessary... he wanted to clarify this with her to make sure the door definitely opens inward.

Almost everything that is inside is of no interest to the building authority. It does not matter for social order.

Hello dear all,

The architect responded that she needs to consult with a colleague,... but it probably won’t make much difference.

"As I already informed you by phone, this would only change the height of the attic slightly but not its width, since the main rafters cannot be lowered further due to the ring beam."

What do you think?

Hello dear experienced builders,

The building application has been submitted, now it is about the detailed planning. I would like to have the toilet moved closer to the wall in the guest WC so that a slightly larger washbasin fits... Otherwise, we have bought 10 spots for the kitchen and hallway, only on the ground floor. The one spot on the upper floor will be removed.

I had all three attic windows enlarged.

The office door is apparently possible after all, the architect spoke with the door manufacturer, a 76 cm door fits in the office.

Now my request is to take another look at the door and window openings and critically check the floor plan and everything else... Regarding the spots in the kitchen and hallway, we were told to check it ourselves, the architect has no electrical experience and adopted it from old plans of previous builders...

I am curious to hear what you say.

Best regards
