That can be done with simple risers as well.

What do you mean by that? If she wants an open staircase, then definitely not risers, right?

To be honest: I really can’t follow the OP when reading. She writes too confusingly for that. So I assume that simply a standard staircase is being planned – which is usually open (I know enough construction specifications). And then the option would be risers.

Sorry for my confusing posts, I am trying to write better, I am writing from my phone and that makes it a bit more complicated. I’m sending a picture from our construction service description, showing how the staircase will be. Yes, regarding using the space under the staircase, it’s not possible, I just didn’t manage to comment on that yet, but I was still planning and considering.... I want to keep the staircase (open) and honestly, I also didn't quite understand how the staircase can be changed so that the door can be big enough to fit there.

That's okay :)

That would have to be closed up by the drywall installer. Additionally, the steps must be closed with risers (these are the vertical boards).
You basically gain a storage room.
In the living area, like in your case, an open staircase looks nicer.

Yes, and because sometimes the appearance admittedly matters more to me than the practical aspect, I definitely want to have the open staircase, so the staircase idea actually doesn’t work? The staircase should have a gray tone, which one I don’t know. Someone upstairs was surprised... I want the whole house to be white and gray. So white doors with gray handles, gray wooden staircase, I saw a black staircase at some acquaintances, that looked nice too, but you can see all the dust on that, gray would be better there. But that is a matter of taste, first I have to clarify the door situation without taking another staircase. Appointment with the architect is on Wednesday, until then I have time...
