That would have to be closed off by the drywall installer. Additionally, the steps need to be closed with risers (those are the upright boards). You basically gain a storage space. In the living area, as it is with you, an open staircase looks nicer.
Yes, and because sometimes the appearance admittedly matters more to me than the practical aspect, I definitely want to have the open staircase, so the staircase idea actually doesn’t work? The staircase should have a gray tone, which one I don’t know. Someone upstairs was surprised... I want the whole house to be white and gray. So white doors with gray handles, gray wooden staircase, I saw a black staircase at some acquaintances, that looked nice too, but you can see all the dust on that, gray would be better there. But that is a matter of taste, first I have to clarify the door situation without taking another staircase. Appointment with the architect is on Wednesday, until then I have time...
