How old is your child?
What do you think about "relocating" your child to the top floor and making a nice utility room for the laundry on the upper floor? Or you could put the office all the way at the top. This would give you more space, as you could plan the rooms downstairs differently and they wouldn’t feel so cramped anymore. For example, on the ground floor you could have just a pure technical room and maybe a small storage room under the stairs. The gained space could be added to the living room.

Does anyone know if it is allowed to build a carport over the front garden? And how much distance would it need to have so that only one side is deducted from the 15m boundary construction?

Hmm, I've tried endlessly ... somehow we like this the best after all
We will definitely talk to an architect about the hallway. Maybe we'll make the house a bit longer or wider ... we'll see what the building plot and the budget allow
Thanks for your tips!

So the thing with the long hallway and the narrow living/dining area is nonsense. I have the feeling that I am not really making progress with the [GU]. Therefore, I will have an architect design it. Since we might possibly build with a basement after all, I would like the right floor plan:

For the floor plan, I would choose the kitchen/dining area towards the terrace and then place the actual living area at the top of the plan, where the kitchen is originally planned.

Then, in the middle of the long left side, for example, you can also perfectly integrate a fireplace.
