Thank you! That’s exactly it…. The problem is also that we are now being pressured because the builder wants to make progress. He wants to know which layout he should submit to the structural engineer. I feel overwhelmed… so much money and then I’m supposed to design a house for our life with all eventualities from very limited options in 2 weeks. Others need years for that…. I don’t know if I can come to terms with the separate living room in the long run. I would almost back out, but after all the sanctions it will only get more expensive… it worries me.

Could be. I don’t know if there were different requirements depending on the ceiling structure. For us, the beam is basically where the wooden panels of the ceiling overlap. Back then, we were told the span was 5m. An alternative would have been a column.

Of course we will pay that… we don't have a cost estimate. Can the architect give a rough estimate? Or could one of you roughly estimate it?

What just occurred to me…. If the walls in the attic are moved as described above so that they line up vertically from top to bottom… the home office and utility room in the attic disappear, because they become too small. Instead, the bedroom and children’s room become bigger. You can see that well in Katja’s drawing.

Well, but that is a choice, and in my opinion a good one: to let someone else buy it – not only in London, but now already in Dortmund-Nord ;-)

With a BT, probably no one can tell you that. Normally, it should hardly have any effect, as long as the floor plan is not yet finalized, but the gentlemen like to have everything gilded.

Better move the WC and pantry on the ground floor and leave the rest as is.

Wow, that’s really intense.

Just want to show this ground floor variant, maybe it’s an option to avoid the pipe dream and bring everything downstairs without it becoming too cramped. However, of course, no island is possible here.

The HAR must then go to the attic.
