Are LAN sockets still up-to-date? WLAN/wireless is the future!

Everyone has their own Wi-Fi thread - is that necessary? Here "it continues":

Hello,

I am revisiting this topic because I need product advice.
It's getting serious, but I still don't quite have an overview.
I hope I won't be torn apart because of the limited number of network sockets, but I have decided that it is enough.
So I have a simple socket in every room (4 rooms). In the living room, a double socket.
I also have a CAT cable hanging from the ceiling on the ground floor and from the ceiling on the upper floor. An access point should be connected to each of them. Since there is no power outlet there, they should be powered via PoE.
I also need a switch. The patch panel is already in a small server cabinet. The Fritzbox and the switch will be added there. Now the question:
Which two access points and which suitable switch (power outlet available in the server cabinet) for my 8 cable connections should I buy? So preferably exact product names so that everything fits and is PoE capable.
I will probably never fully understand this topic.

What kind of TV reception do you have?

I put a dish on the roof for safety reasons. Magenta TV is also an option. But at the beginning, we will do it like before with the FireTV Stick, watching a series here and there. The TV stays as long as it works and is not particularly smart. We don't watch much TV anyway.

That's exactly why I asked, for magenta TV you need a switch that supports IGMPv3. I only know specific models up to 8 ports without PoE or very large switches, which are quite expensive.

8 network cables is a silly number. If you want to connect them all to one switch, you need a 16 port switch. Intermediate sizes between 8 and 16 ports are almost unknown to me. Alternatively, an 8 port switch and one network cable goes to the Fritzbox.

When it comes to access points, I’m a fan of Unifi. Either the Lite as a low budget version or the NanoHD. Which one depends on the floor plan and the requirements. With only 2 POE devices, I would use the included injectors and a switch without POE.

How does the network cable come out of the ceiling? Is there an [Unterputzdose] or a suspended ceiling where you can hide cables? In an emergency, you can put a field-terminable connector on the installation cable, but it’s too large to connect directly to the access point. Best is a keystone module on the installation cable and a very short patch cable to the access point. But for this solution, you need a [UP-Dose] or a suspended ceiling where the whole thing can be hidden.

How big is your network cabinet? Take a photo.

If we know your requirements more precisely, we can recommend something.
