I have the Netgear WAC540.... not the prettiest and maybe not the best choice currently, but I'm satisfied :)
Switch is also something from Netgear... pick any from the ones mentioned before ;)

The switch is not only for your internet connection but also for your internal network. So you should make sure to have a bit more power available ;) ... so yes, at least 1GB.

Already connected or is the installation appointment still pending?
With fiber optic, the technician comes into the house.

I will go with this one:

YuanLey 18 Port Gigabit PoE Switch, 16 PoE+ Port 1000 Mbps

I’m still looking at access points - I’ll do that a bit more "short-term".

The fiber installation appointment will probably only take place at the end of March. The cable will be blown in about 2 weeks, I’m still waiting for the call from the construction manager of the civil engineering company regarding Telekom.

Are there actually any brackets for the router and switch to install them in the 19" rack? Or what is the best way to proceed?

Sorry for jumping in here again. I haven't read every post in the thread. I have to say right away that I'm not a network nerd and only do rather simple things as a user. I'm just stumbling over the hardware combo. The original poster is getting a fiber optic connection from Telekom, right? So I once talked to Telekom's builder service. They were really helpful to me as a layman. And I now have exactly the FritzBox 7590 in the basement. No additional own modem. As far as I understood, Telekom included a modem in the flat-rate connection fee. At least there are two boxes with magenta-colored Telekom stickers on the wall. I plugged my FritzBox in there according to Telekom's information and that's it. Then in the house it is further distributed using AVM 2400 (wired). For my areas of use it is trouble-free and stable, no noticeable transition issues when moving through the house.

There should be some for the switch from the manufacturer, usually they are included from a certain number of ports onwards. The router can be placed on a rack shelf.

Why don't you just take a 24 port switch? You already have 15 ports full now and you should have some reserve for the future.

Does your chosen switch support IGMPv3? If not, then MagentaTV will not work.
