Here is an alternative proposal without an expanded roof. Instead, with a bay window extending to the upper floor. I haven’t drawn all the windows, only indicated some in the living room so the original poster doesn’t think it would be a cave. Floor area ratio = 155 now fully exploited. Idea of the built-over garage and boundary construction adopted. Utility room with a reasonable size, where you can also put down a bucket. Pantry additionally under the stairs. Spacious downstairs WC with shower that can be used as an alternative bathroom. Knee wall in the roof at 50 cm. 7.50 m wardrobe in the dressing room to beat first! Sideboard additionally possible in the bedroom. Laundry room on the upper floor where the laundry is generated. Should sudden wealth occur or quintuplets be born, expansion reserve in the roof.

My husband also absolutely did not want to have a window behind the sofa. I talked to him for days, saying that you get used to it and that I have lived my whole life in houses where that is taken for granted. (He only ever an apartment child), it was no use. As a compromise and with a heavy heart, we agreed on a narrow window at (frag mich mal) 1.50m height. After now 2 years, he admits that it was nonsense and he should have let the light in. *inGedankendenMannerwürg* I was angry!

My fingers are also itching to come up with a counterproposal that gives the open space including the kitchen (whether separated or not) a bit more of a positive spatial feeling. Because whether the sofa is placed in front of a closed wall (cave effect), but the feeling through window positions and partition walls as well as sideboards, which one would bump into, as well as a kitchen that relates more to the garage than to the living area, rather creates an uncomfortable room climate here. A staircase here with its storage room as well as the idea of walking through all the rooms certainly doesn't make it any better. The window positions additionally make the rooms longer and narrow good furnishing options. I see here at least a south-facing window in the living room about 2 meters wide, a closed wall to the south in the dining area, and instead an opening of the dining area to the west garden. And this way, the rooms gain more spaciousness. The current state makes the dining area feel tubular and has no possibilities to place sideboards without stumbling over them. One-meter-wide terrace doors also don't exactly let the gaze wander into the garden but rather restrict it. Maybe I will come around to drawing tonight, but I bet that I will come up with a completely different floor plan if the house gets a passage to the garage utility room.

The thing is a bit tricky and therefore really exciting. It is crucial to work precisely here, as the 3m distances and the floor area ratio really constrain a lot. To ensure there is still garden left, I don’t find the idea of an overbuilt garage fundamentally wrong.
