Make a counterproposal. You have the room right in front of you.

Make a counterproposal. You have the room right in front of you.

The observant viewer sees no connection between garage and house in the current plan (from last night).

That means right in front of the only reasonably usable windows of the living room?

Yep.

The current plan has indeed removed the access from the garage, but when I look at how to get groceries into the kitchen now, it horrifies me.

The entire floor plan suffers from the placement of the entrance area/stairs/utility room. This results in a room in the west (where the kitchen is currently planned) that is too narrow to be used effectively. This yields neither an ergonomically sensible kitchen nor a cozy living room if one were to (my first thought) swap the kitchen and living room.

Since the access to the garage is removed (thank God!) and a windowless wall to the garage is created there, I would approach the entrance area with stairs and utility room completely differently and plan these rooms into the windowless back wall, placing the kitchen further south and making it somewhat wider (because the entrance area is no longer there) or swapping it with the living room; a common access for the living/dining/kitchen area, which then also lies centrally and, if at all, closer to the kitchen. Because the groceries have to be carried there. Not into the living room.

I can’t sketch right now, otherwise I would once again attach one of my dreaded pencil scribbles showing what I have in mind.

It should be clear, of course, that the upper floor must then also be adjusted accordingly if the stair position changes.

My counterproposal would be a different design - fundamentally the room layout. I have also written that several times. I started it yesterday but came to the conclusion that nothing will work with you anyway except a different sofa position... in that respect, I have now pointed out enough defects to you (yesterday and the day before) that should basically be done differently. The time a well-thought-out (initial) design takes, I would rather take for others who are open and also don’t tell me that they don’t want to accept a proposal from me. If you don’t recognize your problem, it remains your problem.

That was also our first thought. Best practice is to place the kitchen, dining room, and then the living room clockwise starting from the entrance door. In our case, however, you would have the living room completely facing the 2m high gabion standing in front. That doesn’t work. I also didn’t want to squeeze the kitchen between the living room and dining room. So what remains is what is now the room sequence, which was also picked up by Kaho674. I have time and a very good spatial imagination.

I can't help it: Standard staircase, no landing! (not representable)
