Wheat fields, Yvonne. Not for us. Only gets really nice from 10,000 sqm of land onwards.

Yes, definitely.

Now I have something to google. I'm curious what that is.

I don't want rock deserts either. What I liked about this Rheingrün were simply the professionally designed grounds. But I haven't seen any that I would want exactly the same or even 70% the same. But I think the company could lay it out well.

We already have pretty good ideas for the front. Driveway and walkways as many as necessary - no rock desert - otherwise lawn and maybe beside the path from the street to the house, some bark mulch between lawn and path, where you could plant little green trees or something like that.

Also a lot of lawn in the back. Let's see if we plan something really for the children.

Since our terrace faces north and you therefore sit rather in the shade directly in front of the house on the terrace, we will probably have a seating area or something like that made.

What we don't know yet is whether we want a water feature. In the long term, a swimming pool is to be planned, which should already be taken into account now.

What would be a nice tree that could give the large property character? There will probably be a small maple in front and something small... maybe a walnut tree in the back?

Perennials and grasses native to the prairie. Also mixed with undemanding native perennials. Ground cover plants are meant to prevent weeds. Coneflowers and others provide color.

I have now found quite a bit at Rheingrün that I really like.

"Minimalist garden design on a slope with a water basin made of Corten steel and a fire pit"

Modern front garden with raised bed, ornamental grasses, and individual lighting (the driveway)

Mediterranean city villa garden with spacious terrace and lounge area

A nice feature is a seating area in the garden designed with a kind of pergola that is covered in greenery.

What I have quickly googled in the meantime already appeals to me: grasses combined with perennials, I like that. Little work, but a lot of effect at knee height

I found something here that was created in an early planning stage of our house.

What do you think of it? The uneven & sloping plot is the reason for the stairs. We can still well imagine the garden without stairs.

I think there is a lot of stone again. But it’s not bad either. My wife is afraid that stairs in the garden are a no-go with children.

We imagine grasses like the ones behind the bench at our lounging area. One of the few details that both my wife and I liked right away.
