Prioritizing horticulture. Do you want to have the entire garden planned?

I also like pampas grass. It really grows big and if you tie it up in autumn, you still have the tufts as a privacy screen in winter. Stairs, well, kids also learn that as soon as they can crawl. Before that you just have to be careful, but you actually always have to be careful with toddlers anyway...

The garden costs are going to be a problem. I spoke with the neighbor earlier, who also had the garden done by Rheingrün. He initially planned a budget of €100,000 and it absolutely wasn’t enough. In the end, it cost twice as much, but he still had to make significant compromises. He says there wasn’t even a dense planting of bushes along the property fence, so now you can see through everywhere. That all still needs to be made up for.

However, he also has a lot of stone in the garden (slabs) and an elaborate water feature. Still, I find that intense. I don’t see much else in the garden. No pool, nothing.

I don’t get it anymore...
I got the invoice for the [Außenanlagen] today, there’s still a bit to be deducted, in the end it’s 20k.

I put up with a lot, but five or ten times??? No way! Not even if I could print the money myself.

How much land do you have, matte? And what have you had done? We have 1,085m².

Our land is very uneven. Challenges like these have to be mastered here.

770m², hillside location with ~3m height difference.
Splash guard, 115m² paving, divided into 2 terraces and the carport with house entrance.
Additionally, a concrete staircase and ~9lfm heavyweight wall about 1.5m high.

Also some general work and spreading of humus.

There are also things like granite stones for a self-built small wall for slope stabilization and 2 granite troughs.
About 30lfm of fence and plants will still be needed (2 to 3 trees, a few bushes, and some small stuff).

The garden is finished. Estimated to cost around 23k.

To each their own, but I will never understand such amounts for outdoor work...

Think about what you want and get some quotes. I would also ask the small local landscaper around the corner.

The height difference isn’t that much (at least it looks that way in the photos).
It’s enough if you sow it with grass or plant ground cover.
I would lay a terrace and from there a staircase to the lower part.
Have the necessary cables for the pool laid at the same time and build the pool later.

With a lot of stone, the question is which type. Terrace slabs range from 10 to 150 euros per square meter even at the hardware store. Companies like the garden landscaper you want probably have more expensive options too.
