With 180sqm, everything is meant, not just the driveway. The 20k€ is an estimate that only includes the split, the stones, and partially curbstones (since the L-stones encompass the terrace and the carport) including labor. The substructure and coarse gravel are included in the L-stone position. The fence will be some kind of double mesh thing from the hardware store. I’ll do that then in EL with the help of YouTube :-p

I spoke today with a landscaper who says that with €150,000 you can get everything at the level of a good mid-range.

Even a pool from Desjoyaux is included for about €30,000.

Another previously consulted landscape gardener was more skeptical about the pool. He offers Living Pools and says you have to expect between €75,000 and €120,000 there; so we had basically already written that off.

What the second company generally estimated for the price of the outdoor project also seems more reasonable. Whether it is realistic in the end is another matter.

It will probably come to between €125,000 and €150,000 in total.

They both made it clear that price ranges around €200,000 plus really involve such luxury that it only represents the difference between BMW and Porsche and does not provide any real additional benefit if you are normally grounded. I’m already relieved about that. The neighbor, who had his garden done with the second company and was somewhere around €200,000 plus X, was an absolute high-end example, they told me.

I could roll on the floor laughing... How stupid people are, spending such huge sums on garden and stuff. Here are our expenses: enclosed double carport and shed and passage to the house (total building 15 m long and 7 m wide), terrace roof covered with tiles executed as hip roof, terrace paved with granite slabs, 40 meters driveway bordered with granite chippings and large granite stones, large excavator for terrain leveling and earth distribution, all that TOGETHER cost 28,000 €. Garden designed by ourselves, trees and shrubs, roses and other little things from the nursery brought in and then garden created in 4 days, different zones created. Got many compliments for it. We then still had enough time to build a climbing park with a treehouse for the kids... Of course, built ourselves, because if you can, you can.

150,000... I break off! If only it were at least a particularly tremendously beautiful English garden with a stream... At least on 2000 sqm of course.

I cannot compare a garden with so much personal effort to a complete service. That doesn't make any sense. Transition etc. is realistic with the mentioned amount. But if you want everything planted and do not contribute any personal effort, then that's a different ballpark. Calling other people stupid because of that, I find quite arrogant. Everyone is free to decide what they do themselves, what they don't, where they hire an external service provider and where they don't.

Of course, this is not directly comparable, but it also does not justify a €100,000 price difference.

You tend to go for high-priced solutions and naturally find the corresponding providers. Whether we’re talking about architects, heating engineers, lamps, or now gardens. It’s fine if it’s worth the money to you. It just doesn’t really reflect the average here in the forum.
