I would move the stove further to the right towards the window. Having at least pot-sized counter space on both sides of the stove is simply very practical.
Thanks to induction, a pot resting area should actually be unnecessary, but I will consult with the cook about that.
I find the entire layout very unfortunate.
Standing in front of the stove blocks the door, the sink should be mirrored for right-handers and centered optically under the window. Also, more counter space for dirty dishes to the right of the sink.
If you already have the option, put stove and sink at an angle to create an ergonomic work triangle.
And tall cabinets should frame the kitchen, not divide it.
The room should also offer enough space to do without expensive and old-fashioned corner cabinets. I’ll draw something if you like
I will address the points:
1. Door blocked: It only leads to the utility room. The freezer is right there, which is very practical for cooking (parsley, for example).
2. Sink: It will be a double sink, meaning the faucet will be between two basins. Then it doesn’t matter where the draining area is (if that is what was meant).
3. Dirty dishes go in the dishwasher, which is located immediately to the right and elevated. So usually, you only place maybe two handfuls of dishes there to open it. It might happen that something large is placed there that would be in the way. I will clarify that.
4. Work triangle: The idea behind the layout was that the cook can work undisturbed in the back left while dishes/cutlery etc. can be brought in and out on the right side.
This is very important to us.
5. The half-height cabinets are necessary because we want the dishwasher and oven to be installed at height. We really like the old-fashioned corner cabinets, so we want to keep them if at all possible. The kitchen actually offers enough space for that.
3! Work areas... two of them will sooner or later turn into storage space.
Chopping takes place between sink and cooktop, plating on the right, next to the fridge there is storage space for appliances and breakfast/coffee. It should actually fit.
The small area in the middle with tall cabinets and oven, microwave, etc. Opposite that (so far away from the living room) maybe also tall cabinets for storage. And then a long L-shape with workspace, sink and cooktop as desired. Cooktop for example in the corner, sink next to it on the left.
We had considered that, but it goes against the idea that someone is constantly buzzing behind and beside the cook to set/clear the table. But I will discuss this again as well.
Basically, we are satisfied with the planning, it’s more about whether the price is okay.
