Because I usually don't sit on the chair in a kitchen, but work standing at the countertop.

And that's exactly where the problem lies. In the systems we build, workers often have to reach far with their arms and inevitably lean on the worktops often and a lot. And if you do that for 8 hours straight at just 10-15 degrees, it really becomes unpleasant.

But this is really off topic now. Anyone who wants can certainly have a tombstone built into their kitchen. I just don't like it.

Best regards,

Andreas

And that is exactly where the problem lies again: Almost no one spends that much time in their kitchen in a private household. And certainly not at 10-15 degrees. I understand such regulations and also find them reasonable, but as an argument against a stone slab in a kitchen, they in my opinion cannot hold up.

I don't like granite very much either. You have to put down every glass carefully and it is very loud. The cold also bothers me, especially since we will have a cooking island to sit at.

Best regards

Not only your son, I also quite like to sit on the kitchen island and enjoy my coffee.

For me personally, granite indoors is also not something I like – whether polished or matte... it reflects a lot, which creates restlessness. It is a "loud" surface, it is a "cold" surface, even if it is warmed from underneath, for example by underfloor heating. Stone is cold and wood is warm – these are not just sayings.

But to each their own.

I also chose oak wood instead of granite, the costs were the same and I also associate warmth and coziness with wood and rather tombstones with granite. In addition, I use the blackened wood as a contrast to the otherwise completely white kitchen and other furnishings.
