Is a house for a total volume of 400k still possible at all?

Egg cartons are cheaper and provide the same effect. If you’re going to save, then please do it properly!

Seriously: the classic is Q2 plus textured wallpaper plus paint. That hides a lot. A smooth wall only works with a smooth substrate. That’s how it is. Q2 alone is not enough.

Yes, just saw that carpet is quite expensive after all. That will be tough discussions with my wife. I'll probably do the test anyway, so that we have at least some comparison.

In the end, it is always a question of what you can afford. Sometimes that makes some decisions easier for me when searching for the jack-of-all-trades. If you decide to do the walls yourself, then I would choose something I can also implement myself, and I would rather smile at my own weaknesses on the wall than get upset about something else. Some (many) things do not suit me or annoy me quickly, and I then completely stay away from them. In other areas, I am meticulous, but then I want the person to do it whom I know will do it almost perfectly, even if it is a bit more expensive. If we didn’t have such high walls, I would do it myself; so now it will probably be sprayed.

We will depend on what our painter says once everything is done. Either we will do touch-ups or leave it as is and then apply [Streichputz] without [Vlies]. The painter's fleece is also not a 100% guarantee that cracks will be covered. What we will do in 30 years, we will see then :)

And if you want to keep it simpler, you use liquid textured wallcovering that can be rolled on.
