I was already wondering why someone plans in mm.

For the metal sector, planning in mm is very inaccurate. We had a hard time back then accepting that blurriness in the centimeter range is normal.

In winter, there is a lack of light in the house and in the living area, light will be necessary almost all day.
You lack about 6 months of natural light in the house,
the south terrace is too warm for 2 months
and the man cave also goes differently. Mine still wanted a cherry picker inside.

I find the floor plan nicely compact and clear. And I don’t think there is too much circulation space (except for the foyer, into which you obviously fell in love, and which I don’t really count as circulation space in the house anyway). The problem is the orientation on the property and thus the light and (lack of) staging of the view to the west. I also don’t understand building to the south because of a garage fetish, but that doesn’t matter. That has been pointed out often enough and I understand your first sentence to mean that it is now set in stone. So just a few points: - Your husband plans in mm, the shell builder does not. Make sure the kitchen niche has enough room (so 3m plus X) - Personally, I would only put a tall cabinet on the left and right in the kitchen niche and in the middle still 1.8m of countertop with wall cabinets. I find counter space more important than gimmick cabinets – and a lot fits into a 3.2m peninsula. I would probably then also relocate the sink or cooktop to this area. - I think the peninsula is great, especially the omission of those bar stool/counter combos that are currently as popular as they are superfluous - You could move the small wall in the garage to the other side and shift the garage door so far to the right according to the plan that the door in the foyer could be omitted - Regarding the window behind the couch, I would consider possibly making one or two smaller windows. Not floor-to-ceiling and huge, but rather to loosen up and catch some rays of light. They can also be asymmetrical. You would have to see that in the elevation. - I don’t think the hallway will be too narrow or too dark. It’s not that big, and you pass through quickly anyway :) It is a classic entrance situation that fits the compact floor plan.

I also like the floor plan. And not everyone is so obsessed with light that every room has to be as bright as a stage. I would only plan one door. But that is due to my general aversion to the open floor plan style.
