Yes, then the kids have to learn to sleep downstairs despite the noise. The lack of sound insulation in open houses is definitely a disadvantage. I thought of this because previously no door was planned either, and then I thought "all or nothing"... The structural engineering is not simple with such an open room, and with standard ceiling heights, large rooms rarely have the desired effect.

The offset alignment from the entrance to the door or to an open corner is "not nice." Why not swap the living room and kitchen and move the entrance to the open plan area elsewhere? For example, the wardrobe could be placed opposite the stairs. However, I say: the stairs in this cost-saving mode are not suitable for adding another access to the cold storage room there. Furthermore, the space under the stairs is needed to create a storage room. Why is the cold storage room "back there"? Aren't there long distances for the supply lines? This can only be answered in the context of the entire property, garage or carport, and street connection, so please upload the site plan with the house marked, How do you envision this?

Hello, attached is the site plan. All utilities (electricity, water/sewage) are connected at point "B," i.e. at the northeast corner of the property, hence the cold storage room here, only 5m to all utilities.

There is no living room door opposite the stairs, there is only an opening with a lintel planned here. Storage space is the garage/attic/wardrobe closet/utility room and large built-in wardrobe in the bedroom. I know storage is never enough, but we currently have a 55sqm full basement that is completely full of stuff no one has touched in the last 10 years. Therefore, our floor plan is not optimized for storage. However, we have carefully considered how much storage we need.

One request, please: The positioning of the house on the property should not be the subject of this discussion; this is only about the floor plan given the location and orientation of the house. Everything inside can still be changed. The circumstances are so varied that an explanation here would go beyond the scope.

Hi Kaho, we also found the garage really annoying, a window in the west is on our list too. The utility room door is calculated; even the 90cm wide and 2.13m high door fits underneath – just like all the other interior doors. For the kitchen, the sliding door has already been requested; it makes a lot of sense here. We considered boxing off the area under the stairs, but it looked rather poor in the simulation. Which views do you mean? Windows? Which side?

Well, all of them. Without pictures it's hard to assess. So far it still looks very much like "scattering windows" to me. Can't your program show any views?

Hampshire,

pretty cool but we still can’t imagine a completely open solution.
The kitchen should at least be somewhat tucked away.
Open is great, but for our taste, by giving up the living room doors and the semi-open living-dining area, we have already taken a big step.
Thanks for your suggestion.
