Yes, then the kids have to learn to sleep downstairs despite the noise. The lack of sound insulation in open houses is definitely a disadvantage. I thought of this because previously no door was planned either, and then I thought "all or nothing"... The structural engineering is not simple with such an open room, and with standard ceiling heights, large rooms rarely have the desired effect.Of course, opening up the space is nice, but with 2 kids who want to sleep while Mommy and Daddy are still watching TV, it's always a pain.
