Single-story would also be allowed, but since the building plot is so small, there is no space for it. Sure, a single-story barn with a high gable would be great – unfortunately not on the property. Two stories are necessary – I actually mean more like 1.5.
Interesting, expensive staircase? Hmm... do you mean the one in the living area? In general, I find the appearance of the staircase important, especially if it is placed in the living room. For example, I find open folded-plate stairs particularly great. But if there’s no space for other rooms because of the staircase, then it becomes secondary.
