This is probably how I would do it... if the staircase "has to" be there (although I also question that, because it wasn’t that optimal upstairs in the previous plans). I’m not upset if it’s not liked. Ultimately, you have to build your house.
At first, I had it like this, almost with a partition wall to the bathroom

Then after some fiddling and playing around with the staircase, these two things were created. With the first one, I noticed that the bathroom is somewhat open, so I gave the house a floor-to-ceiling front window and glass doors to the hallway. Surely, some things still need optimizing :)
By the way, the entrance is meant to be covered by the upper floor.

Finally, I want to say once again that you don’t plan for the "short moment" or random situation – like reading here "the girlfriends live opposite" or "the kids visiting… blah blah." The house should function in everyday life over the coming years 24 hours a day. You can easily live with 5 situations a year or even a month without planning pitfalls or cat doors where they don’t benefit the whole house, because everything would then have to be subordinate to that one idea. Because these moments are not under your control and can also change quickly. Therefore, I would simply say functionality also means plenty of natural light ;)
