Well... the double garage is located on the southern boundary . Yes... we actually wanted to avoid that, but now we find this solution the most convenient. You can place the house all the way to the north and build a privacy-protected southwest terrace behind the garage.
I must admit that when I read it, I immediately thought: "good decision"
But when I loaded the sketch, I instantly thought this, not as a suspicion but as a fact:
I'm also not sure (there are other experts for that) how far the light actually reaches.
The garage "covers" more than half the length of the house and takes away the sun in winter or the darker months. Maybe some light remains from it between 2 and 4 pm in December before the sun sets in the southwest.
The window as well as the door in the hallway provide hardly any bright added value: a) the front door is set too far back and the east window is practically boxed in by two rooms inside the house, so natural light does not penetrate significantly inside.
Personally, I already recognize the approach of a hallway labyrinth, which itself swallows light through corners.
Also, I wouldn't like this hallway myself because it offers no openness nor does it welcome anyone at home.
I would probably have seen the garage placed at an angle on the east side and then a carport shifted next to it, also with the house positioned 3 meters from the north side.
The garage will still have to be extended one more meter to the west, since there must be 5 meters of space in front of garages. If I'm not mistaken ;)
If the sketch is correct, then too many square meters go to the hallway. The pantry entrance is too far from the entrance and, with 60 cm cabinet width, too narrow to provide an added value compared to cabinet space.
