Maybe an extra door into the actual sleeping area (opening into it)? Then you would have a) sound insulation to the outside b) sound insulation within the parents' area in case of differing daily routines and c) children with claustrophobia could use the parents' bathroom without lying half in bed.

Would be an option. But would of course disturb more often in the bedroom/restrict furnishing and more or less make the sliding door unnecessary

...the windows would of course need to be positioned differently :p
all passages are of course doors. At the entrance to the sleeping area, you can now make a sliding door.

Thanks for the hint. I hadn't thought of that. That was just my internal drawing. The sliding door would be built 100% into the wall. Do you all really think the bathroom is that tiny? It should only be enough for showering and brushing teeth in the morning and before going to bed - so that we don’t get in each other’s way. The large master bathroom is of course open to everyone and not reserved for the parents only. If I close it, it will be dark. One half of the window will be able to open. This way, the children’s friends can go directly from the street into the garden without having to walk through the living room.

However, I would think carefully about the access situation; as shown (and also in the nice design by ), it would be clearly too little privacy for me.

Master bathroom  Please please no. Not only is it a terrible Anglicism, the term Master is now avoided in the real estate sector in English-speaking countries because the term implies racist and sexist stereotypes. Unless you are selling Southern mansions to a nostalgic clientele.
