Sorry, I just forgot. We have a bed with a very high headboard, which is screwed to the wall. That’s why we need a solid wall without windows for the bed. So we probably cannot place the bedroom on the garden side.
Your bedroom faces south and west. So the sun heats up the bedroom until sunset in summer.
It’s not the end of the world, but on hot days it can get uncomfortable.
Swapping the bedroom with Mr. Smith’s room would definitely be possible if you’re willing to forgo the symmetrical arrangement of the windows on the east side. Then either a strip window above the headboard or one or two narrow windows to the side of the bed could be installed.
