I also find it a very successful design.

What I noticed: To the right of the chimney, a laundry chute would fit well (built like in the attic).
(Accessible from the bathroom, through the kitchen to the basement)

I personally also think a laundry chute is good, but unfortunately my wife doesn't ;(. She is afraid that the children might fall in there sometime. In the [KG] the laundry chute would end in a living room, but I don't think that's so bad. Well, I have to talk to her again.

My parents have that in their house, I believe it’s a 250mm pipe, going from the parents’ bathroom on the upper floor to the laundry room on the ground floor. I once tried to get in there as a little boy, but there wasn’t much room.
If we can somehow incorporate that into our planning, it will definitely be included, it’s just insanely practical.

I didn’t want a laundry chute either, always thought, why such nonsense.. now when you walk from the attic to the basement and have forgotten something and have to go back to the attic.... oh, how nice that would be.

Hey, the floor plan looks somewhat familiar to me.
I think it’s great!!!
Regarding your questions:
1. On the upper floor, 1.13 meters on the gable sides are more than enough. We have it exactly like that and it’s very bright. With the light strips, there will definitely be enough light in the children’s rooms! In Child 1 you can then place a 3-meter wardrobe directly to the right, and in Child 2 you even have space on two walls for that.
2. The furnishing works great in the children’s rooms with that. You can definitely place a desk in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, again the other way around, so you sit with your back to the window and look into the room. That’s how we have it in the office and it’s great!!!
3. I would always make the access to the bedroom through the walk-in closet and not through the hallway. We love it, you simply don’t disturb each other anymore.
4. Take a look at our plan for the upper floor, it would fit you too and works wonderfully in practice.
5. No child will ever fit in the laundry chute, and it’s a blessing in such a large house. I can gladly show you photos if you want.
5. Adjust the widths of the windows in the southwest so that they line up. In the closet and bathroom I would rather put light strips like the ones above. In the southeast I find the staircase window totally oversized; here I would also rather use light strips. You need light in the basement hallway too. And I would make the children’s room window narrower. In the northeast I would leave out the light strip in the bedroom because it’s unnecessary in that spot. In the northwest I would make the children’s room window narrower and the window beneath it wider and with a railing for the sofa. But I would definitely make the dining room window floor-to-ceiling.

Hey Kisska86, thanks for your feedback. True, certain similarities to your floor plan are included, definitely the upper floor. Our floor plan is now finalized, it's really just about the views and arrangements of the windows. Unless someone spots a nasty planning mistake. I just checked again, you have 1.13 m windows in the rooms upstairs. Generally, I think the windows are sufficient and that way the children's rooms would be a bit easier to furnish, but then it’s hard to find suitable windows for the living / dining area. At the moment, I would tend to plan 1.51 m floor-to-ceiling windows upstairs and downstairs. You mean downstairs in the living room you would like the window with a sill, so not floor-to-ceiling, like in the current view, and make the dining room window floor-to-ceiling? I think that also looks strange, I would probably keep it the same. One could also consider making the windows in the living / dining area 1.76 m, but the question is how that would look together with the windows upstairs. The light strip in the southwest above the living room, so the children's room, would you provide it with a 2.76 m wide light strip? Did I understand that correctly? Regarding the light strip in the bedroom, I think it's a matter of taste. We were at the model park and liked it there. The problem, however, arises if you have a higher bed and it would then stand in front of the window. But to completely do without the light strip? Mmmmhh. We actually like the dressing room as planned. Of course, your version is also nice, but we prefer ours. I think that's a matter of taste. Regarding the garbage chute, I would like to have one, and I have gotten my wife on board. The question is where it is best placed. I would appreciate photos, you can also send them to me in our conversation? The only downside with the garbage chute is that it definitely comes out in one of the lower basement living rooms. I don’t see another option there.
