Thanks, I have now found your blog. I really, really like your house. For a house like that, I would also deviate from symmetry.

You mean, you would get used to it?

So practically only single-family houses for you, if I interpret the "cadastral plan" correctly, since apparently detached houses stand on the neighboring plots on both sides.

Thirty years after the accession of the "new federal states," I call that a successful reunification. And, cheer up, I’m the same: if the highways below me have a "western standard," I know I have crossed Hessian Siberia and am now in Thuringia

If you explain the benefit behind this preference, we can adjust our thinking accordingly. Symmetry by itself is initially just a pattern without value.

Most municipalities have already "worked on the development plans for the internet"
That would be the dumbest possible idea because that shifts the balance between qualified and merely opinion-giving responders to your disadvantage.

Those suitable as a basis for the offer will have appeared no earlier than post #180 of this thread (?)

Oh dear, you really don’t want to know what nightmares these words gave me.

Secondly: see the symmetry aspect; and first: that would render the "action house" basis absurd, if you ask me.

I can of course only answer for myself, everyone probably handles it differently: to question 1) if the degree of hopelessness of the plans is high, the sympathy for the original poster low, and the degree of resistance to advice again high, then maybe not at all; otherwise it goes on to question 2) first in - first out, otherwise I could hardly "work through" the list of new posts.

Good goddess, that was mostly kidding.

If there is one thing that is absolutely more certain than the pension (by Norbert Blüm), it is this: that shutters (on a villa-sized 940) do not cost the equivalent of a double garage.

All in all I have to say: I am extremely disappointed. First you appear here as someone who informs herself almost half-dead in countless individual threads, and then this: a villa with the small modification to reinterpret the children’s rooms as “the kids have already left the house” rooms; and with the after many weeks of intensive reading unbelievable ignorance of the absolute basic knowledge that with wastewater the darker the pipe is the more literally you should interpret the term downpipe as vertical – because in this example it looks as if only one of the two floors was mirrored east-west. My scream of pain would have almost woken the whole house when I saw this thread :-(

No, I find YPG's house great both spontaneously and in the long term. In my opinion, it is magnificent, interesting, exciting in a positive way. You see the house, want to get to know the owners and (at least I am like this) inquisitorially ask them about their experiences and inner life.

Yes, I should have mentioned that. It will be a detached single-family house. I had once considered (according to the development plan it would be allowed) two semi-detached houses with an opening in the middle, but that gets too expensive.

Now I have created a mnemonic for the cardinal directions: NS and Wo.
Otherwise, I see it exactly like you. I love the motorways in the East and so many still without speed limits.
Off topic: If you don't know it yet, you can look up "Olaf Schubert goldene Leitplanken" on YouTube, really funny, I think.

I associate symmetry in house construction with calm, appealing, classical, harmonious architecture; maybe also "pleasing," which is not necessarily a compliment but suits me.

Once we have the architects' plans and they are registered in the land register, I will upload all plans and documents here anonymously. Linked with an invitation to visit the construction site.

Understood, your advice will be taken into account.

I don’t understand that.

I know people who like nightmares because they are so exciting. I agree with you in that there is not much left of the action house. Basically, except for the square shape, everything is different, so I shouldn’t call it that anymore. It is nowhere stated in the offer/contract either.

I am very grateful to you and the other forum members for every hint and comment. I will implement most of it. I hope I may contact you again here with the architects’ plans/development plan because it’s just that I trust you more.
I am also really glad that I have said goodbye to the bathtub with whirl function. I absolutely don’t want it anymore and have already agreed with my husband about it.

Not entirely off the mark; initially I did receive, hmm, two very grumpy hints about my misconduct.

I don’t know what you mean by that. Functional shutters cost about 25,000 to 30,000 euros. (Decorative shutters are of course cheaper, but not that much.) I thought the comparison roughly fits but have not checked in detail.

I really regret that for you.

I don’t understand the wastewater issue. The architect will probably explain it to me.

Please don’t torture yourself like that, it’s the run-of-the-mill house of a stranger.

I am building a house for the first time, and my husband and I now only have a somewhat fitting floor plan as a basis for the architect discussion. We know, on the ground floor exclusively patio doors, so that we can step from every room into the garden or the wrap-around terrace. On the upper floor, considering shutters, the corresponding number of windows. If no shutters, then more windows and patio doors. This doesn’t make the floor plan design easy for me, but I rely on the professional support of the architect.

A rough idea (red roof, without bay window, exclusively patio doors on the ground floor, the windows upstairs somewhat larger) in the attached photo. Probably boring, but I like it.
