With the size, it becomes a bit difficult to place the furniture. Is there an opinion on the position of the door (centered or edge)?

You position them so that, for example, on one side there is a bed, on the other side, for example, shelf depth space. This is just a general guideline and a rough estimate.

If you need more space for furniture, then plan a house with stairs and an attic. It's that simple.

Edit: If you design a house that is already bursting at the seams in the plan, then you are doing something wrong somewhere.

your comment is off, or are 16m² for a children's room "bursting at the seams" for you? I merely picked up on your - quite sensible - thought regarding the terrace doors.

actually, the original idea was a window with a window seat (see attachment)

Also nice. I like it a lot! But quite impractical in the children's room. 16 sqm is already great. However, I would actually only plan something like that in a large house, because this furniture offers little storage space but takes up a lot of room. Additionally, it's more decoration than useful. That would be more in a large common room. It's just Pinterest, Schöner Wohnen, etc. This is not a criticism of your house, but I mean it as I say: design components or furnishing ideas need to fit. No house can accommodate everything/all ideas. And your house is not big. I see more chairs or a pouf that can be moved aside to reach the wall unit. Many plan one window on each of the two outer walls. How about a terrace door opposite the room door and then a normal 100 cm window on the other side? You can also go with 80 cm width, it also depends on the other rooms.

Well, then you already have your width. Whether you place this opening sash centrally, off-center, to the right, or to the left of the fixed glazing is a matter of taste. Oh look, there is the ventilation sash we talked about.

But you had referred to it on the sliding door on the south side of the living room, right? See Now, the general question for me is whether a sliding door should visually/practically yield to a terrace door of the same width.
