Light from 2 sides in the room gives a completely different sense of space. If possible, I would never do without it. It also gives you much more chance to bring light into the room (even in the north – light can go around corners!). The size is less important in comparison. Besides, windows are usually not more expensive than walls.
Yes, to be honest, I am not sure if the children's rooms still need windows on the north side because of the usable space.
In addition, we will extend the house by 1m compared to the standard.
The roof will be a dry attic truss construction with a load capacity of 200kg/m², which provides enough storage space for various stuff.
The windows will all be fixed glazing, 40cm above the floor, 180cm high, 190cm wide.
Regarding the bathroom window:
- rather floor-to-ceiling with optional privacy protection / "frosted glass" in the lower half
or rather smaller and adapted to the kitchen window?
--> actually, no one (strangers) can look directly in as there is no public walkway
Are the general dimensions of the windows well chosen in terms of "space for furniture/seat on the windowsill," light admission, space?
Best regards
M
