I tried measuring the chimney once. Sometimes it is below the wall, sometimes above. In the attic floor, it is too far to the left. The architect must have been asleep there? The chimney in the middle of the exterior wall also makes little sense. The different exterior wall thicknesses are also not exactly optimal. In my opinion, the apartment for the daughter needs to be completely redesigned.

The fireplace will be removed completely. We no longer need a shaft because we are installing a heat pump. I don’t know why it still appears in the plans… In the existing building, the exterior walls will be insulated so that we will have a uniform thickness with the extension.

I wouldn’t exactly want to have to go from the bedroom through the living room to the bathroom. The roof terrace in the NE? The large roof overhang in the north?

The path from the bedroom to the bathroom and the dressing room also bothered us, but we could not solve it otherwise. Unfortunately, we lacked ideas there. The roof terrace was planned because of the view and the "[Nische]" there. The roof overhang had to be there to comply with the building regulations.

The OP has only planned 15 steps. You can't hang a ceiling there. ;) Anyway, I would be interested in the ceiling construction. The breakthrough in the exterior wall to the living room will presumably get a massive beam. Then you will only have 2.2 m of clearance height.

Well, our ceilings are quite high, that's true. I'm curious how it will look; I think even after the floor structure and the suspended ceiling, we should still have a somewhat higher room height than in the first house.
