Here many have solar thermal systems, that is solar thermal system, meaning solar panels for hot water on the east side. We do too, by the way (I have also seen west somewhere). Because sometimes there is no other way, and hardly anyone will orient their house for this obligation. Savings are not really worth mentioning now. However: if it should be photovoltaics, then I would probably only install it on the south roof. Because in that case the surplus is sold.

OT: Theoretically, the purpose of a subsidy is to create incentives for desired investments. In case you have missed the discussion about climate change: it is currently very much in vogue - in the truest sense.

Theoretically, the purpose of a subsidy is to create incentives for desired investments.

De facto, however, you are not only shoveling your own money from one pocket to another, no, you are also taking it away from your financially less well-off fellow citizens.

If it matters to you, then go ahead and install as many solar panels as you want. But making the general public bleed for it and then officially celebrating yourself as a benefactor—that’s just not acceptable. Only sleazy corporations do that.

[Falls Du die Diskussion um den Klimawandel verschlafen haben solltest: ist gerade heiß angesagt - im wahrsten Sinne.]

Sure, THAT's the ultimate trump card... who would dare to be against it. Even worse might be pulling out the RIIIIIGHT-wing argument... Imagine you do something for the climate, but out of your own pocket. Only then can you be proud. But please don’t come with anything else.

I don't want to be PROUD at all. I want things to move forward. Everyone is allowed to build something like that. There is already solar for balconies and tenants... Sorry, cheapskate - stop now.

So hi everyone,

we were at the architect's today.

briefly the results:
- stairs on the ground floor will be mirrored
- the stairs will then be one above the other
- for better use of the upper floor
- kitchen and utility room will each lose 50cm
- we still want a door to the garden in the utility room

the layout of the living room / kitchen / dining area remains as it is. I discussed this at length with my wife and ultimately gave in here. only the kitchen / dining area will be separated with a sliding door or similar. how we will do the upper floor we will see once we know where the stairs will end. so everything is still open here. we also don’t quite know yet whether we will leave the entrance to the office in the living area or move it to the hallway.

about the dormers:

they are planned this way because it allows for a covered terrace with a roof overhang and at the same time the small extension can be realized. when I look around here, many houses are being built with dormers and will be in the future. so this doesn’t seem unusual here. I currently can’t imagine how it should work without dormers?

if you build up the outer wall instead of putting dormers in the roof, that conflicts with the extension.
