I will definitely do that. Thanks for summarizing. The latter should probably be the cheapest.

Cheaper, I'm not sure, since it's bigger. It shouldn't be much more expensive. In 2016, we visited 2 providers with a bay window in the dining area and a balcony upstairs, both company consultants said that it costs about the same to enlarge the entire house by the size of the bay window.

In any case, those few sqm on each floor would do well.

That is basically correct - but it does not mean that the house becomes more expensive because of the higher knee wall. As I said: from sums ... - more knee wall, less roof pitch / bay window gone, but "distributed" over the house depth, these are elements correlated with each other that are more "reshuffled" than becoming more expensive or cheaper in total.

We haven't had the Neo yet either. With 11.1m x 9.3m, we should end up roughly at the original floor area again. Knee wall at 1.30m, ceiling heights: ground floor 2.60m, upper floor 2.50m. For K3, one could consider a shed roof or something similar again. For cost reasons, initially only double casement windows. Stairs offset again above each other (and no landing) - please put your glasses on!
Upstairs as usual, south:

I haven't thought about the chimney yet. It could be tried, if it's even liked. It would probably go on the gable side.
