What are the requirements in the development plan regarding eaves height, roof slopes, number of floors, etc.? If you have the option, I would recommend a knee wall of 1.30m. That is a pleasing size to comfortably place a bed under the slope and not to perceive the room as too small. It would also be an advantage for the roof peak.

WOW thank you very much. I will definitely bring up this idea for discussion tonight. Thank you very, very much.

The development plan only says that a maximum of 2 full floors are allowed, as well as a gable or hip roof. Otherwise, we have no regulations. Isn’t a knee wall of 1.30m already quite high? Then the window sills are also that high, right?

It is a good height to also place a bed under the slope. Or a chest of drawers. It has nothing to do with the windows.

Window sills? Under the sloping roof?
Perhaps I haven't fully understood the project yet. What exactly is supposed to go into the upper floor on the south side as windows? No double casement windows? A view would be very enlightening.

For me, it looks roughly like this so far:

But I haven't quite finished with the east side yet...

Well, we have 2 large dormers with windows. It will shift it upwards if I raise the knee wall, won't it? View is coming.

From my own experience, because we moved into 140sqm (net living area without office and large corridors) + 70sqm basement 2 weeks ago, you have too little usable space in the house for 5 people. We also have 4 bedrooms upstairs in case a 3rd child comes. The living space is also borderline. For 5 people, if you subtract the utility room and office, you have 130sqm left. At the moment, I find the 140sqm with 2 children on the ground floor and upper floor really comfortable, but with a 3rd child it should not be less. If a 3rd child should really come, I would recommend building a bit larger.
