If you like it better without, then tell her that it is much easier to clean without ;)

Sometimes I really wonder what some people do in their jobs...

I ordered the bench slats from Saunainter in Estonia because they were the only ones who had such nice rounded bench slats for the front side of the benches that really appealed to me.

So I went ahead, planned the bench construction in 3D with the bench slats available there, and took measurements from that. Then I put everything together accordingly in the shop and requested a discount. Since for orders up to €1000, shipping costs of €100 have to be paid, I also ordered sauna stones and the sauna control system there.
A discount was granted and I placed the order accordingly.

To be on the safe side, I paid with PayPal.
That was on 12/04/20 – delivery time was given as 14 working days, so I assumed the delivery should actually arrive before Christmas.

Since it was not there, but I was busy with the cabin myself anyway, I had no reason yet to ask what was going on with the order.
I’m really not the type to make a fuss immediately, after all, I am quite aware of all the problems with Corona/holidays/high demand for sauna materials etc.

But since I still had no further information on 01/08/21, I contacted the shop by email, upon which I immediately received the answer that the delivery should be shipped the following week and asked if I could wait until then.
I agreed – what else could I do.

On 01/19/21 there was still no news from them, I was slowly getting a little impatient, so I unsuccessfully called the hotline in the meantime and then contacted the shop again by email and "threatened" to open a buyer protection claim with PayPal. Since there was no response, I kept calling the German hotline again and again in the meantime. I DID NOT reach anyone A SINGLE TIME...

I then opened the PayPal case on 01/22 because there was still no news from them.
Now yesterday the doorbell rang and the guy from the shipping company stood at the door without warning.

The nice driver of the shipping company then got stuck and half buried with his truck while turning around on our gravel driveway (That was a construction site driveway, much bigger trucks turned around there without problems).
After digging out and putting wood under the wheels didn’t help, he had to call his colleague for help, who then got him out again with great effort.
In the meantime, I was really afraid that he would fall down the slope with the truck. That wouldn’t have been so great for my delivery... ;)

So I’m happy that everything is still coming to a good end and accept the order after 2 hours of battling with the truck.

And what do I find out when unpacking? That the idiots packed me the wrong sauna control. o_O
They packed me the Harvia pendant for Finnish stoves and not the version I ordered for Combi stoves.

Now I can keep arguing with them via PayPal, I have now requested my money back for the control system stating that I will gladly return the item if the seller covers the shipping costs or sends a shipping label.
I will order the control system somewhere else, I certainly won’t order from them again.

The wood looks okay so far, but the woods are different in color, I hope it doesn’t stand out too much or will discolor slightly in use.
I really don’t have any other choice anyway...

At least I can continue with the bench construction now, I need the control system anyway only at the end.

oh, man, how annoying!

The color differences in the wood will surely even out - after all, it is a natural product.

A well-known hardware store delivered 3 handles to us today for our drawers ... each about 15 cm long and one 30 ..... When the courier rang the bell today, I looked dumbfounded - I hadn’t ordered anything ... he actually unloads a pallet: on it the 3 handles .... Unfortunately, they don’t fit now, I asked how I should return them .... on a pallet ... a freight forwarder picks them up o_O
