Everything that needed to be said has basically been said. Using remote control is stepping onto thin ice. You already know the opinions from the KUF as well. So I wouldn’t do it. But definitely connect lighting, music, and sensors to the KNX, meaning humidity, temperature, etc.

Then you can also talk about partial integration, and the sauna can somehow report to the bus once it’s ready, etc., or if something is wrong.

All of this can be set up with standard KNX devices and doesn’t require anything special or expensive.

As for controlling the stove itself, you have to see how it is regulated. In principle, you can build your own solution or have a mix of stove from manufacturer A and control from manufacturer B. Unless there is a proprietary bus in between.

It’s not rocket science at all.

I see it as follows: sauna is something that takes me away from everyday life and where no one bothers me. I take time for that. In any case, right before saunaring you briefly check if "everything is okay" or you do this and that....towels, drinks, music, etc., all of that is rather a ritual. From that perspective, I absolutely see no point in controlling the sauna remotely or similar. It takes, as said, about 20 minutes and usually the sauna is hot before you are ready yourself. You don’t run directly from the garage into the hot sauna. Sauna has precisely this simplicity to it, which I wouldn’t want to lose. If I don’t have time, I don’t go to the sauna. For that, I would rather use the "best" wood or the stove that I like best. I imagine that and can look forward to it, down to other utensils. There are great solutions with rechargeable batteries for music nowadays anyway, for little money. I would invest a lot of time in the choice/construction of the lounging areas so that I have it really comfortably. One could also automate the infusion and other stuff......for me, when saunaring it would be MANDATORY: Keep it simple! .....but nice to look at.

Better to use a "sample sauna" - a cold smell test would be too uncertain for me.

We used Zirbenholz and Zedernholz sauna wood directly in Bavaria and quickly agreed. The sauna builder gave us a little bag of wood shavings as a gift, which is now lying between our pillows.

The planning is progressing. :)

We are going with the Sentiotec Home Combi 9kw with the Harvia Xafir control.
No app, no KNX, but a stove just as I imagined.
Fixed glazing will be done with a parapet and the stove integrated into the bench.
