I think the same. We paid 4000€ just for a staircase without a railing. With a railing and oak wood, we ended up at about 6600€. It goes quickly.

We will have a white painted open wooden staircase with dark stained beech wood steps. This cost €1800 more compared to the standard beech wood staircase according to the construction service description. However, we still have an appointment with the staircase builder and would like to have the staircase as a closed version. Additionally, we would like a continuous Omega handrail instead of a segmented one. Our staircase is 1/4 turned.

The staircase will then look approximately like this (only with a continuous handrail):

Dust is much less noticeable on dark surfaces with textures, e.g. Via Lattea in the attachment.

From experience I can tell you that a granite staircase is not exactly warm on the feet. But since you are not standing on it for even a minute, that doesn't really matter. The advantages outweigh for me: granite is indestructible, looks good and is very quiet. In our old house you don't hear when someone is walking on the stairs.

In the new building we paid an extra 1,800 euros for the concrete staircase, but without covering. The granite covering costs just under 3,000 euros (treads and risers) plus installation.

Dust on the dark surfaces?
The heat is stored and released quickly or slowly depending on the building fabric.
With surface heating, this takes place quite consistently.
Therefore, the temperature of the individual materials within the thermal insulating envelope (as long as not directly at the heat exchanger) should not differ too much from each other.
