Still looking for some tips: gas cylinder. Are there differences? I think it should be 11KG. Which one? Does it matter?
Your grill should have a specification for the maximum gas it requires. Of course, you won’t have it turned up to 100% all the time, but it gives you an indication of how long the gas supply will last. Then choose between 5kg or 11kg. And as said before, always use two and operate them alternately.
The cover. Is there only one kind? Why is it so expensive? About 120 euros. I guess because it fits perfectly, Weber grill can charge that much. Or why? Does the grill have to cool down properly before putting it on, or is it heat resistant?
I’ll put it this way: I have a separate cover from Weber grill for the “first grill” that cost 100€, and it still looks great despite years of rain, snow, and sun. Later I also bought a smoker (Smokey Mountain), which came with a Weber grill cover included. That one became brittle, cracked, and stiff very quickly. It still exists but doesn’t look nice.
The cylinders: buy or with deposit?
Price-wise it’s basically the same. Whether you pay a 30€ deposit or purchase ownership for 30€ hardly matters. Choose a cylinder system that you can exchange locally. Some hardware stores only have red cylinders (rental system), others have brown ones (owned cylinders). I would avoid aluminum (expensive) and gimmicks like “BBQ Gas,” where the cylinder looks fancy but is extremely expensive and hardly exchangeable anywhere.
