I once wrote it here, but somehow I can’t link this post to this thread here. Keyword: Komodo.

........at the Barbecue Sport Club, all the barbecue amateurs can wonderfully watch crazy pictures & videos on page 4 by the user "Flemse" on the topic of the "Komodo" grill from the USA, rarely seen anything so positively crazy, including a video of the delivery of his Komodo model from the USA. I could laugh myself silly over his thread. I think he lives in Denmark....wonderful....and he even bought the entry-level model, :D :D

After I saw the report from User Flemse, I want to withdraw my statement: My grill is not good for spectacle, I am unworthy and remain an amateur :eek:o_O:)

oh yes, I wouldn't see it that way. There is always bigger, more or crazier. An invitation to the local forum and everyone is happy about your spectacle. I was once invited to such a grill nerd, everything was special and unique and was supposed to be applauded and praised....... but I just wanted to eat a plain piece of meat and have a cold beer with it. What a hassle, I prefer my stress-free amateur version, where the meat can also be burnt and the fun still remains.

There has been and still is a Chinese column grill made of stainless steel sheet everywhere, about 25-35 euros depending on the supplier, we have had this part for about 10 years. It is therefore indestructible, and every six-person grilling round is well fed with it - not only with bratwurst, but also with marinated beef steak or similar. In addition, we own a Cobb for the ship, which works wonderfully on the go. Of course, it is a bit small for several people. But super easy to keep clean and store. I think these giant pieces, modeled after the gastro scene and developed for grilling entire bus groups, are nothing more than pretend at home and "look what I have".

Oh, I don't really know. Of course, nobody needs that, but what does one really need? 95% of the things we have and discuss here are not really needed. Somehow I have a soft spot for such "crazy people," maybe because I myself am like that in some areas, and I think that "look what I have" is something we all have somewhere inside us if we look more closely. For me, it makes a significant difference whether someone shows me their giant grill, their Märklin model railway, or their great lawnmowers because they like it themselves or are proud of it, or whether they want to elevate themselves above me or others with it or look down on them. I have already been shown so many cars, tie collections, wine cellars, whiskey collections, household appliances, etc... I always like to look at those. I think it maybe also partly depends on oneself whether one feels attacked by it; I would generally suspect that intention in everyone.
