That's true. Weber grill is also more of the "hardware store grill" in the USA...

I have already looked at an incredible number of grills. Our Broilking 320 has served us well. But the next one will be a Napoleon. At least I haven’t seen anything else so well made so far. Our next grill will also have stainless steel grates. They are indestructible. The grates of our previous grills were always enameled cast iron. All of them had to be replaced at some point because they eventually started to rust. And those things are ridiculously expensive to replace. I will also make sure that the warming rack is made of stainless steel and not that cheap metal. Ours have partly already broken due to rust. It is like so often, if you buy "cheap" you buy twice.

We had stainless steel grates (still have them in the charcoal grill) and I no longer want to swap them for the cast iron ones. The cleaning is infinitely more laborious.

Rust is simply burned off... I don't think it makes much difference whether it is cast iron or stainless steel.

Just ask Google for "Santos", a great dealer who has a huge selection on site. I can only recommend them!

The cleaning is the same for both, burn off + brush off, the potentially necessary OIL can be saved with the stainless steel grate.
