Thank you very much for your draft, I like it very much. How would you arrange it if the entrance has to be on the north side or as an alternative project to your great suggestion?

Swapping the dining room and kitchen was also my first thought. Can the parents' bed somehow be placed in the east? I think the wardrobe blocks possible light that could be captured with a window (also since the distance to the neighbor is about 6 meters). The pantry can also be completely removed if it is better for the kitchen, that would be one of the first wishes that can be erased from the list.

We have more than enough space and storage in the basement. In the attic, we will set up a small office, which we can also use as storage space (shelves, etc.). We will definitely take many ideas from your draft.

Attached is the latest draft from our architect with furniture, which does not yet contain any changes since the meeting has yet to take place. In the following post, a few ideas we made based on this.

Idea for the upper floor, only the colored lines are mine, drawn over the original plan.

In the bathroom, you could make a shower at the bottom, directly on the wall by the exit of the shower I would then have a radiator installed to warm the towels :)

Another advantage would be that the entrance to the left children's room is better located and the hallway is also a bit smaller.

On the ground floor, we would remove the wall from the living room to the dining room, the wall on the left would be replaced by the wood stove, which is a kind of half-high wall. The chimney does need to be moved, but it should line up well with the bathroom on the upper floor.

The cloakroom and guest toilet would be swapped, and we would also add a shower in the toilet.

Looking forward to your input ;)

The stair design will probably not allow for a fixed floor staircase to the attic above the existing stairwell, as the roof slopes in the attic would then reduce the required headroom. Unless the roof is quite steep, which one generally cannot assume with a terraced house (the roof pitch has already been requested several times)

Also good with staircase replacement. At least an alternative. I would swap the shower WC and the wardrobe. If you turn the bed upstairs (head to the south), then you can create a nice window on the east side :)
